Nuts about Easter!

Image
April 15, 2022 I know you are craving some good trash tableaux, but fortunately for me, I keep running into treasures (good thing for me I named this blog trash AND treasure). This little treasure is an age old tradition in Western Pennsylvania. It is Easter Bunny Lane at Kraynak's in Sharon, PA. Twice a year, they turn part of the store into a lane of decorated trees and displays (the other time of year is, of course, Christmas). I can remember visiting this lane as a child. Of course, my child's eye remembers the line being long, and the lane being even longer, but it is still a great time even now as an adult (and child free)! I have a love-hate relationship with squirrels (just ask my family-it is a little squirrely), so my husband decided we should look for squirrels in the display. How he knew there would be a lot, I have no idea (he is just like that sometimes). So, our focus was kind of finding the squirrels which happened to be in almost every display (a lot like Whe...

April 9, 2022 Sometimes in life, you just can't improve on the original, and this tableau says it all on its own! We visited the Blackout Burger Bar in Grove City, PA, and it truly was all treasure and no trash on this one! I am not one for doing any kind of review, but I can't help myself since this place is amazing! This small, quaint burger bar is tucked away in the small plaza next to the Grove City Outlet Malls. It is not the easiest place to find because you can't get to it from the outlets, but it is worth the search. The ambiance is fantastic. We chose to sit at the bar across from a steer head (I think) and by this wonderful clock. The clock is a tableau itself since it is repurposed old taps! We ordered a flight (for those of you who don't know - a way to sample beer), and the beers were unique with something for everyone's taste. If you are not feeling adventurous, they also have some good old standbys. The menu also has lots of unique burgers. We went...

It's tee time fore nature preservation!

April 5, 2022 I can hear the moans through the time and space of the internet for the comment on this tableau (get it - "tee time" - "fore" in golf), but in all honesty, this particular trip was all about the treasure and very little about the trash. One very cool thing about my hobby is I GET to meet all kinds of interesting and fun people. On this particular trip, I got to team up with the Conservancy of Bradford Woods Reserve and a Girl Scout troop working on their Eco Friendly Badge .  I have a tangential relationship with the Conservancy, so I stumbled into this little adventure purely by accident. I am so glad I did! It was so much fun, and I would have never found this gem on my own. This Protected Conservation Area is sponsored by the Allegheny Land Trust and maintained by the Bradfood Woods  Conservancy. It is a spectacular place of many habits which makes for a great place to practice mindfulness with all types of nature or to hangout for some recreatio...

If you want to get clean, take the highway to the laudromat

April 3, 2022 What a special treat for you today, I have two tableaux from the laundromat. Yeah, I know, but you do have to keep going there until you get your laundry set-up at home, so don't judge. Also, the weather has been crappy (come on, Spring), so I am limited on what I can get at the moment. This Sunday, the traffic at the laundromat was much more of what I would expect to see on a Sunday. The trash was also more prevalent because the manager usually comes in the morning. I was also be able to get one tableau inside and one tableau outside, so oh, the joy it is! If you recognize the above, yes, it is my favorite corner. The Bible has been removed (I hope someone who needed it took it) and has been replaced with a novel. I also found a Mickey Mouse sock and misc. items you would normally find at a laundromat (none of it ours this time). The one on the right is from outside the laundromat. As you may expect, the outside is littered with cigarette butts (Eww, you do have to ...
