Nuff said!

Sometimes in life, you just can't improve on the original, and this tableau says it all on its own! We visited the Blackout Burger Bar in Grove City, PA, and it truly was all treasure and no trash on this one! I am not one for doing any kind of review, but I can't help myself since this place is amazing!

This small, quaint burger bar is tucked away in the small plaza next to the Grove City Outlet Malls. It is not the easiest place to find because you can't get to it from the outlets, but it is worth the search.

The ambiance is fantastic. We chose to sit at the bar across from a steer head (I think) and by this wonderful clock. The clock is a tableau itself since it is repurposed old taps!

We ordered a flight (for those of you who don't know - a way to sample beer), and the beers were unique with something for everyone's taste. If you are not feeling adventurous, they also have some good old standbys.

The menu also has lots of unique burgers. We went with the Bison Burger and the 50/50 and shared. A side of fries and the baked beans rounded out our meal. The 50/50 was probably the most unique and tastiest burger either of us have ever eaten. (I did not take a picture of the burgers, but they looked like - well, burgers)

The baked beans were homemade with ground meat, barbecue, and the tiniest hint of heat for a fabulous flavor (I'm not Chef Ramsey, so my descriptions are very boring).

I added an explanation point to my meal with an adult milkshake. You can order these either with or without the alcohol, so it makes this a family friendly place indeed. I should have taken a picture of the milkshake for sure (it was definitely picturesque)!! It was delicious and the alcohol taste was slight. It added to, but did not overwhelm, the taste of the shake which was thick and full of little bits that could have easily been finished with a spoon (peanut butter cup with chocolate vodka)!

After it started snowing in April (remember, this is in the weird weather belt - just never know here), a creepy fog came in, which is an eerie coincidence since I had written a poem the previous day about the fog I encountered on my morning commute. I did include it below for your reading pleasure. I know; I am so multi-talented!

Elusive Fog

Clear roads ahead - bright in the darkness - lone driver - you go

Demarcated line crawls along the surface - it comes

Not comes - massive boundless mist - just is

Collision imminent - brace for impact - you go

Grip tightens - jaw clenches - immediate impairment - you go

Cloudy vision - consciousness fleeting - it remains - you go

Predation ensues - consuming - claw marks drip down the windows - just go

Location lost - mile markers elusive - road lines ambiguous - just go

Disembodied red luminescence embellish the mist in front - distance incidental - just go

Blurred white flecks approach from behind - growing brighter - just go

Suddenly veil lifts - sharpness returns - depth perception restored - you go

Clear roads ahead - visibility re-established - reality undistorted - you go

Summit reached - witness resurrection below - oh, shit - you go
